This website

In short: this website does not set any cookies unless you consent to Google Analytics, and it does not show any advertising. Fonts, images and videos are stored on our own hosting. Google Analytics only runs if you agree in the banner, and you can change this at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

The website is stored as static files with Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg, and is delivered via AWS Amplify Hosting and the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network. For a page to reach you, the service technically processes your IP address, the address requested, the date and time, and information about your browser. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and fast delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

CloudFront delivers content via servers in many countries, usually via the location closest to you. In the process, your IP address may also be processed at a location outside the European Union. Amazon Web Services, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); in addition, the AWS data processing agreement contains the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). AWS processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). We do not evaluate access logs and do not keep a list of who visited which page and when.

Google Analytics

Only if you choose “Accept all” in the banner do we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Before that, and if you choose “Necessary only”, your browser does not load anything from Google. Google Analytics shows us how the website is used, so that we can improve it.

The data processed are the pages visited, the time spent on them, the page you came from (referrer), your approximate location (country and region), information about your device, operating system and browser, and a random identifier. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses: the IP address is only used briefly to determine the approximate location and is then discarded. Google signals and advertising features are switched off; the data are not used for personalised advertising.

Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>. They contain a random identifier so that returning visits can be recognised, and they are stored for up to 2 years. Google Analytics keeps the analysed data for 14 months and deletes them afterwards.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG, the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Google processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). In the process, a transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR).

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future: click “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “Necessary only”. The Google Analytics cookies are then deleted from your browser, and nothing more is loaded from Google.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to see how this website appears in Google’s search results, for example for which search terms it is shown and how often it is clicked. For this, Google only provides us with aggregated figures. Nothing is embedded on this website for this purpose: when you visit, no data are transferred to Search Console and no cookies are set. We confirm that we own the domain via an entry in the domain’s DNS.

Cookies only with consent, no advertising

Without your consent, the website does not set any cookies. Only Google Analytics sets cookies, and only if you agree. We store your choice in the banner and when you made it in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), so that we do not have to ask again on every visit. This is strictly necessary for that purpose (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). After 12 months we ask again. There are no advertising networks and, apart from Google Analytics with your consent only, no embedded content from other providers. The animations on the pages run only in your browser and do not transfer anything.

Downloading the software

The installation file is stored with Amazon Web Services and provided via the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network. When you download it, only the technically necessary connection data are processed: your IP address, the requested file, the date and time, and information about your browser. You do not provide any data for the download itself, and no account is created. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and fast delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Starting the 14-day trial

You do not start the trial on this website but when you first start the installed software. The app then transfers your name, your email address and a device identifier derived from characteristics of your hardware to our licensing service. The device identifier is a checksum and contains no real name and no serial numbers in plain text; your hardware data cannot be calculated back from it. The purpose is to provide the trial and to prevent the trial from being used more than once on the same device. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the trial you requested) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in preventing repeated trials). We do not ask for a payment method. We delete the data if no contract is concluded after the trial, at the latest after [period].

The licensing service runs with Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg, in the Frankfurt am Main region (Amazon DynamoDB database). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with AWS. No transfer to third countries is intended; AWS is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Purchase and subscription

Sales, payment and invoicing are handled by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as reseller (Merchant of Record). Their privacy notice applies to the purchase. Lemon Squeezy informs us of your email address, the plan you chose, the number of seats and the status of the subscription, so that we can activate the licence. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

The SpeechToWork software

SpeechToWork processes speech, text, recordings and screen captures exclusively on your computer. This content is not transferred to us or to third parties. The only transfers are the download of the model files on first start and the data for the licence check: the licence key, a non-reversible device identifier derived from your computer, the computer name (so that you can recognise your seats) and the time of the last check. The check takes place when the program starts and every four hours after that, so that a licence is not used on several computers at the same time. A random identifier of the respective program start is also transferred. Without an internet connection, the software keeps working for up to 7 days. You yourself are the controller for the content you process with the software. We are not a processor for it, because we have no access to it.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Saxony-Anhalt (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz Sachsen-Anhalt).
